Caramel sauce is a simple little Italian sweet sauce which is usually served with panna cotta, ice cream or crêpe.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar

Method
 

  1. Pour the sugar and 2 tablespoon of water into a saucepan and place over medium heat. Bring to the boil without stirring. Once the caramel has reached the desired colour, add the second 2 tablespoons of water. Let it boil for a minute, shaking the saucepan so that the caramel mixes together.
